Make your installation easier with Sewell’s RG6 Siamese cable which has been specially designed and rated for outdoor use.

Siamese Cable

Running power and data together cuts your installation time in half by requiring you to run only one cable. The term “Siamese cable” refers to a type of cable that combines video and power into one package. That means that in addition to the RG6 video cable, there are also separately insulated power cables included in the cable. That allows you to provide the proper power to your equipment without interfering with the video signal.

Outdoor Rated

This RG6 Siamese cable has been made to be used outdoors. It comes equipped with two insulation jackets for maximum protection from the elements. The outer jacket is made from Polyethylene (PE), which makes the cable extremely resistant to cold weather, moisture, abrasion, chemicals, cutting, even lightning. The inner jacket, made from PVC, adds additional protection to the conductors.

Camera cable

Pros: Not sure, how it holds up to direct Arizona sunlight we'll be the test.

Cons: I ordered RG 59 Siamese, I got RG6. I cannot fault Sewell, I may have clicked on the wrong product. Application was security cameras. I does work, and I did not notice it until I had 400' already pulled. The cable was very hard to work with. The red abd black power wires were fine, but getting the jacket off was not impossible...Not enough room to describe the issues with the coax.

Other: I have three different RG 6 connectors, compression, clamp etc. Not one of them worked properly with this cable. 4-5 minutes to put on a connector with professional cable equipment. Don't but this unless you are VERY patient.

Security System Installation

Pros: Use this RG6 Siamese to install outdoor security cameras at a church. Some of the runs were almost 400 feet and primarily run outdoors fully exposed to the sun and rain. The cameras were 1080p and the image, even for the longest runs, were sharp, clear, and bright with no noise evident.

Cons: Working with the PVC outdoor jacket was really tough.

Outer PVC jacket need much improvement

Pros:

Cons: The outer jacket in PCV needs much improvement in quality and design. When we want to cut the end of the wire and separate the two siamese cables, the outer jacket rips off and the internal RG6 shield is exposed. Not by little, but much of the shield is exposed at several places. I don't like the hardness of the jacket for the power cable, the individual red and black get also exposed and jacket breaks. We've been doing RG6 for many years and it's the first cable that we've experienced such damages by doing our regular work.

HAM radio

AC9NM - 6/2/2017 3:14:45 PM

Siamese cable is convenient to use for powering remote relays to switch bands at the antenna feed point. Its lower loss than most coax used for HAM radio and I don't transmit with more than 100 Watts. The only disadvantage is having to use a unun transformer to match the 75 ohm coax impedance to 50 ohm equipment. I like that it's available on a 500 ft spool.
